Dundee descended into darkness this morning as a thunderstorm made its way over the area.
The sky turned black just after 9am as the storms neared.
An online tracker shows where lightning has hit, though it looks like Dundee is set to miss the worst of the drama.
The area is still under a yellow ‘be aware’ warning from the Met Office with torrential rain expected for most of the day.
A SEPA flood alert is also in place for the area with flash flooding widely expected.
Due to the weather, several roads around the city have been forced to close.
They include Hospital Street, Kinhorne Road, Dens Road.
Buses have been diverted around the affected areas.
People took to social media to report what they saw.
