Thousands of pupils across Tayside received their exam results today.
There were smiles and tears in equal measure as youngsters learned their fate.
While some waited anxiously for the postman to arrive, others had opted to find out how they had performed by text message.
And with university places and job applications at stake, it was a tense day for senior pupils.
A spokesman for Dundee City Council said close to 3,000 pupils from S4, S5 and S6 sat a mix of National 4 and 5 exams and Highers.

Advisers have unique access to information on UCAS course vacancies at UK colleges and universities, confirmation and clearing, advice about modern or foundation apprenticeships, employment and volunteering.
The helpline will be open from 8am to 8pm today and tomorrow and from 9am to 5pm until August 17.
