A DUNDEE couple today said they are living in fear after several bricks were thrown through their sitting room window.

Sheryl and Andrew Wilson, from Kirkton, spoke to the Tele about the “petrifying” incident.

Andrew, 34, said the pair were watching television when a group of around 12 people began shouting outside their house.

He said: “They were demanding that I go outside to face them but, given what’s happened to us recently, there was no way I was leaving my house.”

He said he looked out the window and as he did, a brick smashed through the window and hit him on the hand.

Andrew added: “It was petrifying. The next thing four more bricks were launched through our window.

“The television was smashed, there was glass everywhere and Sheryl and I were both hit by bricks flying into our sitting room.

“We locked the doors and called the police.

“An ambulance was also called and I received treatment to my hand. Sheryl also has severe bruising to her leg (pictured, right) where she was hit by a brick.”

Sheryl, 35, said she was completely terrified and was now living in constant fear.

She said: “I hate it here. We’re living in fear for our lives.

“It’s having a horrendous effect on our health and at times if just makes you feel you can’t go on.”

The couple claimed that a couple of months ago there were similar incidents when another window of their house and the glass panel in their front door was smashed.

Sheryl added: “We have been living here only since last November and this has been going on since then.

“We can’t live like this any longer. We thought we would be happy here but it’s just horrendous.”

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “Police are making inquiries after vandalism to windows at Craigmore Street, Dundee, at around 7.30pm on Sunday August 28.

“Anyone who has any information or knows who is responsible is asked to contact Tayside Division on 101.”
