A car was “dragged” along a Dundee road following a collision with a lorry trailer.

Police were called to the scene on Pitkerro Road, just at the roundabout with the Kingsway, following the incident at 1.10pm.

Other motorists could only look only as the car came to rest against the rail at the flyover.

Both vehicles were on Pitkerro Road with the HGV heading westbound and the silver Vauxhall Astra heading east towards the Scott Fyffe Roundabout.

Traffic was disrupted while the vehicle was recovered from the busy road.

Simon Hamilton, 42, spoke of the moment his Vauxhall Astra was involved in the smash.

The quality engineer said: “I must have been dragged along a few yards. The glass on the driver’s side smashed in thankfully my son Rory wasn’t in the back as that is where his car seat sits.

“I’m still picking glass out of my pockets now, I’m relieved no one was injured.

“It hasn’t really sunk in what has happened.”

A spokeswoman for Police Scotland said: “We attended a two-vehicle road traffic collision on Pitkerro Road.

“Two vehicles were involved and there were no injuries.”
