A man had to be cut free from a car today after it veered off the road and landed on its side in a ditch.
The emergency services were called to the B954 between Auchterhouse and Newtyle at 8.40am to deal with the crash, which involved a red Land Rover Discovery.
A 52-year-old man was found within the car, struggling to remain conscious.
He was rushed to Ninewells Hospital via ambulance with unknown injuries.
Two fire engines also raced to the scene and cut the man free through the roof of the car.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “A 52-year-old male suffered unconfirmed injuries in the crash.
“The trauma team, an ambulance and two fire engines were called to assist.
“The man had to be extracted through the sun roof.
“He has been taken to Ninewells Hospital for a check up and scans.
“The road will remain closed until the car is able to be removed.”
