A pedestrian has died following an incident involving a lorry on the A90 northbound near Dundee.
The casualty was declared dead at the scene of the collision, which took place near Petterden around 3pm today.
A spokesman for Police Scotland said: “Next of kin have been informed. His details will not be released until he has been formally identified.”
The northbound carriageway was closed to allow officers to work at the scene and inquiries to take place into the full circumstances of the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to contact Police Scotland on 101 or speak to any officer.
Eyewitness Peter Chalmers said that he was travelling down the A90 on the southbound carriageway when he came across the collision.
He said: “I was driving down in my colleague’s van – we had actually just been down that road ten minutes before.
“There was a load of police officers and cars and lorries all stopped on the other side of the carriageway.”
