A former pub is set to be turned into a recording studio under plans lodged with Dundee City Council.
The Planet Bar on South Road was once a popular haunt for pub-goers but had fallen on hard times.
Under the proposals, the bar will be converted into three rehearsal studios for local musicians.
The bid had previously been revealed in the Tele and has now been officially submitted to the council by businessman Graham Brown.
The 38-year-old musician previously said he hoped to encourage the city’s next generation of talent.
He added: “I only ever played one gig in the pub — that was a good few years ago now and I remember thinking it would be a great place to turn into a recording studio.
“If I could have hand-picked any building it would have been this one.
“The locals have been delighted I’ve been able to keep it going because it was potentially going to be demolished if no one took up the lease.”
