A DUNDEE salon boss says she will be glad to see the back of 2015 — after falling victim to yet another act of vandalism.
Margaret Gray, 44, and husband Wayne, 51, of Law Crescent, had their home and car targeted by vandals earlier this year.
Now, their business Jackson Gray — on Strathmartine Road — has been attacked, though it’s not known if the incidents are linked.
The salon was left with a cracked window, which is set to remain boarded up until next year and cost the couple hundreds of pounds.
Margaret said: “While we were enjoying our staff night out on Saturday night, vandals were busy attacking our livelihoods.
“It’s pretty bad for this time of year.

“We’ve had stones thrown at our house, our car, and now, to top it off, we’ve had a brick through the window of our business.”
The vandals did not manage to break the glass and gain entry to the hairdressers but Margaret said that she might not be able to get it replaced over the festive period.
She said: “We’ve spoken to a glazier and he’s ordered the replacement window but we just have to wait on that order.
“It could be any day but, at this time of year, it will probably be in the new year.
“It’s boarded up at the moment and it’s impacting on our business — it’s dark and we’ve lost a whole area as we can’t let anyone sit near the damaged window.
“The last thing we need is a lawsuit as well. I always try to look on the bright side but if I think about the damage done, I’m livid. Hopefully next year will be better.”
This year has cost the couple thousands of pounds, she said, due to the cost of repairs to their home, car and business.
To add to their distress, another brick was thrown at the salon window on Sunday night at about 10pm.
Margaret added: “We don’t know if any of it’s connected — we don’t know if it was the same person that came back to try again on Sunday night.
“We also don’t know if the youths that targeted our house are the same people.
“Maybe it is just a string of bad luck — it could have been a lot worse.
“They could have broken into our business and caused more damage.”
A Police Scotland spokeswoman said: “We are making inquiries into vandalism to a window at Jackson Gray Hair and Beauty, Strathmartine Road, that happened sometime between 4pm on Saturday December 19 and 10pm on Sunday December 20.”
