The heartbroken dad of tragic Dundee girl Michaela Hunter has had a permanent memento of his daughter tattooed on to his arm.
Five-year-old Michaela from Kirkton, passed away on Boxing Day after falling into a coma.
She had battled cancer for the past three years.
Now, dad Dave Hunter has had an image of Michaela tattooed on his arm.
He said: “Michaela will now be with me wherever I go for the rest of my life.
“This tattoo means Michaela will be with me all day every day from now on,” he added.
Dave and his partner Carol buried their daughter at Birkhill Cemetery on January 5 surrounded by family and friends.
They are now taking a break in Benidorm, one of Michaela’s favourite places.

Dave said: “We were planning to come here this month with Michaela but sadly she never made it.
“This has been a very poignant, bitter-sweet trip for us because every place we go reminds us of Michaela.
“We brought her here loads of times over her short life and she loved it.
“She made so many friends here and everyone has been very kind to us this visit.”
Dave said that although he has never had a tattoo done before, he decided it would be a lovely permanent way to commemorate his daughter. He said: “A friend
recommended a local tattoo artist in Benidorm and I took along a photograph of Michaela that I asked him replicate on my arm.
“It took him four-and-a-half hours to do, but I think he has made a fantastic job.
“The image very much looks like Michaela and it’s how I like to remember her.
“I used to carry Michaela around in my arms all the time and this way she will be on my arm for ever.”
Doctors first found tumours on Michaela’s spine when she was just two.
She underwent medical treatment for three years as she battled the illness.
But in February last year, doctors gave her family the devastating news the cancer had grown again.
They were told at that time that Michaela would only have months left to live.
Michaela’s mum said: “This has been a difficult trip.
“We had hoped to be here with Michaela but that obviously didn’t happen.
“We’d been bringing her here since she was 12 weeks old.”
Carol said they were still struggling to come to terms with Michaela’s death.
“We are just taking each day as it comes,” she said.
“What else can we do?”
