A man has been rushed to Ninewells Hospital following a road crash in Tayside.
Emergency services were called to the scene at the A923 Blairgowrie Road and B954 Ardler Road in Meigle at about after 4pm yesterday.
Police were initially called to a two-vehicle smash, but upon arrival discovered their to be four vehicles in the crash.
Two cars, a van and a lorry were involved.
One man had to removed from his vehicle from the fire service. He was then taken to Ninewells Hospital by paramedics.
The A94 at Meigle was closed for some time while officers investigated the smash.
A Police Scotland spokesman said: “We were initially called to a traffic incident involving just after 4.30pm.
“The accident actually involved four vehicles – two cars, a van and a bin lorry.
“There was one male who was taken for treatment at Ninewells Hospital with injuries – although they are not believed to be life threatening.
“He was taken for assessment for the injuries.
“We were on the scene from 4.30pm to 6pm and the road was closed throughout that time.
“We left the scene when the accident was clear after carrying out traffic management while ambulance and fire crews attended the scene.”
A spokeswoman for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called out to Meigle at 4.26pm after a member of the public alerted us to a crash.
“Two appliances attended the scene and firefighters assisted the ambulance service in removing one male from the vehicle.
“They then made sure that the area was safe.
“We are unsure of the circumstances surrounding the crash.”
