The suspects of a bakery break-in in Dundee are still at large as police continue their inquiries into the case.

Around £5,000 from a shop safe was stolen from the Greggs bakery in Strathmartine Road.

The store was raided between midnight and 6am yesterday.

Police Scotland immediately launched an investigation into the incident.

Officers are still on the hunt for the two or more suspects they believe are responsible.

A vehicle may have also been involved in the break-in.

A police spokesman said today that inquiries are ongoing.

A spokeswoman for the Strathmartine Road shop confirmed the break-in took place yesterday.

She added: “Police responded to the incident and are investigating.”

Local shop owners also spoke of their shock about the incident with one saying they have increased security measures due to a number of incidents said to have taken place in the area.
