A dog was dumped in a bin in Dundee and left to die.

The Scottish SPCA was alerted when a member of the public noticed the dog while disposing of their rubbish at Dundonald Street on Friday morning.

The male pointer crossbreed was severely malnourished, dehydrated and was unable to stand. He was immediately taken to a vet, who decided that the kindest and only humane option was to put him to sleep due to the severity of his condition.
