More than 10 police cars rushed to reports of a dispute between neighbours on a Dundee street.

Police officers were called to Craigmore Street, in the Kirkton area, at 7pm on Thursday night.

A 25-year-old man was charged with threatening and abusive behaviour after the incident.

A Police Scotland spokeswoman confirmed that officers attended the Kirkton area of Dundee.

The spokeswoman for the force said: “There was a disturbance on Craigmore Street.

“A 25-year-old man has been charged and was expected to appear at court.”

Residents reported seeing several police cars in the area.

Up to 11 vehicles were seen parked in the area at one point.

Another woman described seeing police vehicles driving past her house at around 7pm.

Another resident told the Tele: “My grandson came running in the house just before 8pm.

“He said there were around 10 or 11 police cars parked right down Dunmore Street.

“I was quite surprised to hear there were that many police cars.

“Although you see police cars quite a lot round here, never as many as that in one go.”

Another woman, who lives nearby, said: “Lots of police cars drove past my house. I saw five of them go up Dunmore Street and five went up Ashmore Street.”

One resident, who did not want to be named, said: “I looked out my window and saw police cars outside. There certainly weren’t any sirens, not that I heard anyway.

“I’m surprised to hear there were that many police cars — I hope it wasn’t anything too serious.”

A man, who lives on Dunmore Street, said: “There were loads of police cars on the street last night — some windows got smashed in.”

A resident, who lives on Craigmore Street, said: “I did see police in an unmarked car at the end of the street this morning, so that could have had something to do with it.

“It is quite a close knit community.

“And I would think I’d have heard about anything like that if it happened on my street.”
