Emergency services dealt with a fire which broke out in the University of Abertay this afternoon.
Firefighters and police were called to the university’s main premises in Bell Street about 3.30pm.
The evacuation and emergency response was sparked by a faulty light fitting within the university.
The street outside the building was closed off as fire crews investigated the outbreak.

A spokesman for the fire service said: “We attended an incident at Bell Street following reports of a fire at a University of Abertay building at 3.20pm.
“The fire was fairly small and all is under control.
“Three crews, from Blackness, Macalpine and Kingsway stations attended.
” Upon arrival firefighters discovered the small fire was caused by a faulty light fitting.”
