Police renew appeal for missing Castle Huntly prisoner William Carlin

Police have renewed their appeal to track down Castle Huntly absconder William Carlin.

The 52-year-old prisoner failed to return following a period of leave over a week ago on Thursday November 5.

He was last seen  in the area of Kings Cross Hospital in Dundee at about 9am.

He has connections to the Ayrshire and Newcastle areas and police are carrying out inquiries in these areas with support from Northumbria Police.

The public are warned not to approach Carlin should they come across him.

Carlin, a serial armed robber, was jailed in 2013 after raiding a Sainsbury’s in Prestwick.

He is described as being 5ft 11in tall, of slim build, with short brown or grey hair and blue/grey eyes.

Anyone who may have seen a man matching his description or anyone who has information regarding his current whereabouts are asked to contact Police Scotland on 101.
