Police are looking to track down two men after a 20-year-old woman was racially abused and assaulted on a train travelling through Dundee.

The attack happened on the 8.42pm Aberdeen to Glasgow service, between the Granite City and Perth, on Wednesday July 15, but British Transport police have today released CCTV images of two men who may be able to help with their inquiries.

One of the men is described as being about 5ft 10in tall in his mid-20s, of slim build and tattoos on his hands. He was wearing a black tracksuit with white stripes on the sleeves and dark trainers.

The second man is described as also being about 5ft 10in, aged in his mid-late 20s, of stocky build and with dark hair. He was wearing work-style trousers and a black hooded top with orange branding.

Police have today described the incident as ‘disgusting’.

Detective Constable David McAllister, the BTP officer in charge of the enquiry, is appealing for anyone who recognises the men or has information to get in touch.

He said: “The disgusting behaviour was completely unwarranted and appalled people.
“The train also stopped at Stonehaven, Montrose, Arbroath, Dundee and I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incidents to contact British Transport Police on 0800 40 50 40 or by texting 61016.”

Reference B8 of 17/06/2015 refers. Information can also be given anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
